Set WHMCS domain registration transfer and renewal prices

whmcs, domains-dns

WHMCS domain pricing needs separate registration, transfer and renewal values for each supported term and currency. Build the price table from the registrar's actual offering and the hosting company's approved selling policy.

01 Configure an extension

  1. Open System Settings and Domain Pricing. Add the required extension if it is not already listed.
  2. Open Pricing for that extension and choose the intended pricing slab or standard customer pricing.
  3. Enable the supported terms and enter registration, transfer and renewal prices separately.
  4. Disable unsupported terms using the documented controls. The presence of a multi-year transfer field does not mean the registry or registrar supports that transfer term.
  5. Review the registrar selection, transfer authorisation-code requirement and supported domain addons.
  6. Save and test availability lookup and checkout for the extension, including a renewal-price display.

02 Check the complete cost

Compare registrar cost, selling currency, conversion, payment fees and any provider tax before approving a price. Registration promotions can have a different ongoing renewal cost. Display the renewal basis clearly rather than letting customers infer it from a discounted first year.

Offer DNS management, forwarding or privacy-related addons only where the chosen integration and extension support them. A checkbox in the price table does not create a missing provider capability.

Does editing the TLD price table update all existing domains?

Changing the catalogue does not automatically replace the recurring amount stored on every existing domain. Review existing-customer renewal pricing as a separate change and use the supported bulk-pricing workflow if that is the approved intention.

Check both automatic renewal invoices and customer-initiated early renewals because they can use different pricing sources. Sample existing domains from each customer pricing group before announcing a new renewal price.

03 Maintain the table

Record the provider and date behind each pricing review. Recheck extensions after registrar price changes and before running a promotion. Retain a list of intentionally unsupported terms so a later import does not accidentally enable them.
